How to Have Better Sex

Factors that can negatively affect sexual desire and function:

Prescription medications: Many prescription meds can have a negative impact on sexual desire and ability to perform. If you have already asked your doctor about sexual enhancement pills and have been told that the medicines you are talking can't cause sexual problems, it is still a good idea to investigate more thoroughly. Many doctors don't really take the time to read up on the possible side effects of the medications they prescribe and many of them don't want to know. Quite often, their knee-jerk response to the question is to say no, it's not the meds, even in cases when they know that it probably is.

Drugs, tobacco, caffeine and alcohol: There is a rule that if a substance is addictive, it is toxic. Toxins have harmful effects on the body. It goes without saying:. If you insist on ingesting alcohol, drugs, tobacco, caffeine, you need to understand that some of the potential toxic effects have to do with decreased sexual function.

Lack of exercise: Exercise stimulates all of the systems and organs of the body. People who stay in shape, through exercise, good nutrition, nutritional supplementation, tend to have fewer sexual problems than those who lead sedentary lives and don't take care of their bodies.

Poor nutrition: Every organ and system in the body, including the sexual system, depends on good nutrition in order to stay healthy and function properly. The modern diet is full of sugar and other refined carbohydrates, harmfull fats, chemicals, and other substances that are destuctive to human health. The modern diet is also severely deficent in vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids. This can cause improper function. Toxic chemicals in our foods can do the same. Loss of sexual desire, poor performance, weak or nonexistent orgasm, or any other malfunction can result. And don't forget: an important aspect of proper nutrition is drinking enough water.

Stress: Stress can have a negative impact on any aspect of human health, including sexual health. Too much stress can depress testosterone, and cause elevations in cortisal levels. Eating right, taking high quality nutritional supplements, and getting enough exercise can help counter some of the negative effects of stress, but obviously, correcting the causes of the stress is best.

Insufficent sleep: Sleep is a crucial factor in human health. We need enough sleep and it needs to be the right kind of sleep. Insufficent sleep or poor quality sleep can have the same effect as stress on testostorane and cortisol levels. It can also have a debilitating effect on the other organs and systems of the body, including the sexual system.

The kegel exercise: not just for women!

This exercise is well known for its effectiveness in reducing or eliminating incontinence ( leaking of urine), but it can help with sexual problems as well. The Kegel exercise can be used by men and women to improve sexual enjoyment, and even improve orgasm. Women can easily strengthen and tone the muscles of the pelvic floor through the Kegal Exercise. This helps to tighten the vagina and improve sensation. In men, the Kegal Exercise can increase libido naturally and has even been shown to help with premature ejaculation. How are the Kegel exercises performed? It couldn't be more simple: Just pretend you are stopping the flow of urine. Contract and hold. That's it. But, be careful not to contract the muscles of your thighs, buttocks, abdomen or lower back, and be careful not to really do the exercise when your urine is flowing. Stopping and startring urine flow too many times can cause damage to the bladder. You can do the Kegal exercise sitting or standing. Start out by contracting and holding for about five seconds and work up to keeping the muscles contracted for ten seconds at a time. Relax for ten seconds then do it again. Do this about five times in a row, three times a day, and see what happens. But be patient; exercise takes time to show results and the Kegal exercise is no exception.
